Today’s program presents information regarding The Course of Study Your Career Path Your Graduation Inventory and Your Course Interest Survey You have in front of you a Course of Study and Your Graduation Inventory. The Course Interest Survey , a bubble-in sheet, will be given to you at the next advisory on April 1. #3 An important date that you can place in your planner is April 1. This is the date of your next advisory and the date that you must make your final decision for the courses you will take for the 1998-99 school year. Any students interested in Running Start for 1998-99 should attend the information meeting held at Rogers High School on April 28, at 7:00 p.m # 4 Registration next year will be a personalized walk-around registration in August. You will be mailed a registration packet during the summer which will include a master schedule, a list of your course selections, and a worksheet to help you plan your daily schedule. #5 Please open your Course of Study. Your Course of Study is your reference book for all questions related to course offerings, high school graduation requirements, and college entrance information. #6 At this time we would like to cover some important aspects contained in the Course of Study. Be sure to review page 3. In particular note that you must have earned 5 credits in grade 9 and at least 15 credtis in grades 10, 11, and 12 including all required courses in order to participate in Commencement exercises. You will also want to review page 4 that explains other courses that satify graduation requirements. #7 Please turn to page 7 regarding graduation requirements. You need the following required classes along with 6.5 credits of electives. 2 years of Math 4 years of English 2 1/2 years of Social Studies 1 year Occupational Education 1 semester of health 2 years of physical education 2 years of science #8 Continuing on page 7 review the second column which outlines the requirements for admission to a 4-year college. College requirements vary--be sure to check the catalogues of your prospective colleges. Use the College Quest computer program in Student Services to identify colleges that meet your needs. #9 The best educational planning is done when classes are selected that prepare your based on your career interests.
