How technology and industry change the war Names: Lucas Goff , Justin Tyson , Nicole Perea-Hill, Abby Reinig Kylan Cameron, Mckenzie Shields The technology and industry impacts the war.

Trench warfare's impact on the war Trench warfare was the turning point in modern war it was what made WW1 as horrible as it was. The trenches consisted of disease, rats, and human waste, The trenches were first made due to the terrain they had to fight on. There was no cover nor was there any protection from artillery so both sides dug. Dug in a zigzag patters to prevent enemies to shoot straight down the line. The distance between the Central and Allied powers trenches could be from 250 yards to as close as 10 yards

Tanks effect on the war. Invented by the allies, Could go through the muddy terrain and the wide trenches on the western front. Could also protect the driver and gunner from machine gun and rifle fire.

Machine guns. The machine gun was made to stop and take out many enemies who crossed and left the trenches they stopped the enemies from advancing and could fire some times up to 600 rounds a minute this was one reason why allies decided to build armored vehicles.

Chemical weapons – Invented by Germans The largest chemicals used were Mustard gas – Which could blind the enemies and also attacked the lungs used latter in the war Chlorine gas – Attacked the eyes and lungs as well but would kill more than blind and was used more Both set in low places like the trenches. Was a perfect mixture for chaos The gas mask were widely used but also contained espestice which harmed the lungs and can promote and cause cancer the gas mask were made to combat chemical warfare.

Dog fights and champions of the air. Dog fights- aircrafts were first used the scout the enemies positions they then got into dog fights with other planes. They went from pistols to mounted machine guns and dropped bombs on the enemies . The Red Barron- Fought for the Germans downed over 80 allied planes and painted his plane bright red to intimidate the enemies. He was the pride of the German air force until gunned down by a French soldier in the trenches Captain Eddie Rickenbacker – Each side had their aces and he was the allies side shot down 26 Axis fighters was America. Also shot down hot air balloons used as observation and fired on individual soldiers on the ground.
