What ensembles do we have? Madrigals Top 16 singers- 4 Sopranos, 4 Altos, 4 Tenors, 4 Basses Audition only (every year) Open to 9th-12th Graders Travels to adjudications & competitions Chorale Top 35-40 singers- mix of Sopr., Altos, Tenors & Basses Combines with Madrigal singers Open to 9th -12th Graders Travels to adjudication & competitions

Expectations in the Schedule 3 Curricular Concerts Holiday (December), Winter (February/March), Pops (May) After school rehearsals- that are usually 2:30-4pm in the chorus room and auditorium In-School Concert- week of Holiday break. After School Rehearsals Schedule given out with syllabus for all rehearsals- you need to check your schedule for conflicts and work around them as best as possible. I will also work with your sports schedule. If you miss a rehearsal there is a make-up part testing that you do with me- it is NOT a punishment, but must be made up based upon the students request not me tracking you down. Graduation Madrigals, Chorale & possibly Select Treble in June County Festival Adjudicated festival at a local high school in front of actual judges with feedback given to all that ensembles. Only Chorale, Madrigals, & Select Treble attend If I receive all 1’s we could qualify for the state festival and would vote to attend in May.

Extra Vocal Activities All-State Great to have on your resume, and a great representation of the program. We have had a strong presence in the past. We had 8 students in All State in 2018- 6 Senior, 2 Junior Auditions happen in November, and All-State week occurs in February. Junior All-State (9th Graders), Senior All-State Mixed/Women’s Chorus (10-th-12th Graders) All-County (Eisteddfod) 10 singers chosen from January auditions to represent LHS at Westminster High School 3 evening rehearsals at Westminster, 1 day out of school, and a Friday evening performance.

Concert Attire Is to be ordered before the first concert, and to be worn at the Holiday, Winter Concerts, County Festival and other vocal outings as needed. Packets sent home at the beginning of school with due date to be measured on your own The Pops Concert may differ- colorful tops, and black bottoms. Is to be hemmed, cleaned, and pressed for each performance.
