AED It is strongly recommended that an automated external defibrillator (AED) be present and available for use if needed at the site of every preseason and regular season interscholastic athletic contest in which member schools participate. The presence and availability of an automated external defibrillator (AED) shall be mandatory at the site of every FHSAA state championship series contest on the district, regional, sectional and state levels

Facility Requirements (Basketball) The host facility must: Be adequately constructed to control the entry and exit of spectators for the purpose of charging Have a minimum of two restrooms (one male and one female) for public use Have an electronic clock and scoreboard clearly visible to both team bench areas and spectators Have a public address system Have separate dressing rooms for both home and visiting teams, with access to restroom and shower facilities

Facility Requirements (Basketball) The host facility must: Have a separate dressing area for officials, with access to restroom and shower facilities Have a playing surface which is not fewer than 84 feet from end line to end line and not fewer than 50 feet from sideline to sideline. The court must be properly marked according to National Federation rules, including the proper markings for both teams coaching boxes Have a minimum of three feet of unobstructed space from sidelines to seating, walls or other obstacles and a minimum of six feet of unobstructed space from end lines to seating, walls or other obstacles

In any case, however, the facility must meet the following minimum seating capacities: Class 8A – 1,300 seats Class 7A – 1,100 seats Class 6A – 900 seats Class 5A – 700 seats Class 4A – 700 seats Class 3A – 500 seats Class 2A – 300 seats Class 1A – 300 seats

Facility Requirements (Football) The host facility must: Have restraining cables, fences, walls, etc. from goal line to goal line to separate spectators from each team box along the sideline Have bleachers having masonry or metal understructure with footboards and seating properly maintained for both visitor and home fans

In any case, however, the facility must meet the following minimum seating capacities: (a) Class 8A – 2,500 seats (b) Class 7A – 2,000 seats (c) Class 6A – 1,500 seats (d) Class 5A – 1,000 seats (e) Class 4A – 1,000 seats (f) Class 3A – 750 seats (g) Class 2A – 500 seats (h) Class 1A – 500 seats A facility with seating capacities less than these minimums may set up portable seating at its own expense in order to satisfy these minimum requirements.

Qualifying to Host District/Region Events District hosts are determined at the various district planning meetings for each sport. Region hosts for team sports i.e. football, basketball, etc. are determined by the setup of the playoff bracket. Region hosts for individual sports i.e. swimming, wrestling, etc. are selected from applicants before the start of the season. We are currently looking for Region Hosts in Golf

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Districts) District tournament hosts are responsible for collecting all the required State Entry Lists provided by each participating school. Deadlines for each sport can be found online The host is responsible for the following areas which should be discussed at the district planning meeting: Facilities Admissions Trophies Officials Association (team sports) District Seeding (sport specific)

Please be sure to include all necessary information for the specific sport Timely submission of results is critical to the coordination of the region tournament

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Districts) Reporting results (Team Sports) Report results of the district tournament championship game on C2C. These results are due at the conclusion of the tournament, but no later than 12 a.m. (midnight) on the day of the tournament. Timely submission of results is critical to the coordination and accuracy of playoff brackets.

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Districts) A complete financial report (Forms FN2 & AT10) along with payment shall be submitted by the FHSAA Representative of the host school to the: FHSAA Office and the FHSAA Representative of the other participating schools within twenty-one calendar days of the completion of the tournament.

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Regions for Individual Sports) The Region Tournament host for individual sports is selected before the start of their respective season. Their duties include but are not limited to: Securing a facility Providing information on dates and start times to teams in their region as well as the FHSAA Give out ribbons and trophy or trophy order form for each advancing team

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Regions for Team Sports) The host of region games in team sports is determined by FHSAA policy and the setup of the playoff bracket. Region Hosts for Team Sports are responsible for the following areas: Securing a facility that meets the minimum requirements Communicating between the FHSAA and visiting team to establish start times Provide payment for the officials assigned by the FHSAA when applicable Collecting Admission

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Regions) Reporting results (Individual Sports) one copy to the FHSAA Office and one copy to the designated finals location These results are due at the conclusion of the tournament, but no later than 12 a.m. (midnight) on the day of the tournament. Please be sure to include all necessary information for the specific sport Timely submission of results is critical to the coordination of the State Finals

Responsibilities for Host Schools (Regions) Reporting results (Team Sports) Report results of all region games on C2C. These results are due at the conclusion of the game, but no later than 12 a.m. (midnight) on the day of the game. Timely submission of results is critical to the coordination of the next round of the playoffs.

Responsibility for Visiting Schools Any schools not hosting a district/region event are responsible for the following: Submitting State Entry List Communicating with host to determine facility location and start time Providing any other documents as required by sport All visiting schools should receive a copy of the FN2 form submitted by the host school Visiting schools for both individual and team sports should be proactive in communicating with the host
