Raphael, St. George and the Dragon (1504-1506) What is happening in the picture? Does this painting tell a story? Can anyone tell us story of what’s going on? How has Raphael depicted St. George? How does he look?

Compare and Contrast Donatello, St. George (1415-1417) Raphael, St. George and the Dragon (1504-1506) What are the differences between the two artworks? How did each artist render his character?

Today’s Art Project Create your own drawing of Saint George and the Dragon. Complete your sketch of a dragon and and St. George. Don’t forget to add details such as: castle, trees, sky. Let the finished product tell a story. Finish it off with crayons and colored pencils.
