Optimism (Noun) Definition: Hopefulness and confidence about the future or the success of something. Sentence: It is with great optimism that I look to the future when I see my students graduate.

Compromise (Noun) Definition: An agreement or settlement of a dispute that is reached by each side making concessions. Sentence: Eventually they reached a compromise with regards to where they would build a new fence between their yards.

Possess (Verb) Definition: To have as belonging to one; own. Sentence: I do not possess a television set.

Biased (adjective) Definition: unfairly prejudiced for or against someone or something. Sentence We will not tolerate this biased media coverage.

Obstacle (Noun) Definition: A thing that blocks one's way or prevents or hinders progress. Sentence: The major obstacle to achieving that goal is a lack of money.

Unnecessary (adjective) Definition: Not needed/more than is needed; excessive. Sentence: A fourth Chicago airport is unnecessary. The police used unnecessary force.

Incredible (adjective) Definition: Impossible to believe; extraordinary. Sentence: An almost incredible tale of triumph and tragedy.

Introvert (Noun) Definition: a shy, reticent person; a person predominantly concerned with their own thoughts and feelings rather than with external things. Sentence: Because she preferred the company of books to people, many of her friends thought that she was an introvert.
