Unit 3 8th grade Electric Motor Project

Directions for building motor First investigator what each part does for the motor… why are they needed to create mechanical energy? Commutator Brushes Armature Check out online sites that show how to build an electric motor. You can design your own after you do your research. You probably have some great supplies at home that will work even better than the online supplies, so be creative. As you build: Maximum of 3 1.5 volt batteries in motor Absolutely no Alternating Current Deadline is the Week of February 15th If you are struggling to find a supply check with Ms. Sell I do have some supplies from previous projects but you must know what you need I am not showing you all that is available… so research and plan.

Directions for building a slide show First investigator what each part does for the motor… why are they needed to create mechanical energy? Commutator Brushes Armature Create a Google Slide presentation and explain how anyone could build an electric motor with basic supplies. Using pictures explain how e move through the circuit and what each part does to create mechanical energy from chemical energy.
