I attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania I attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania. I also began my Masters in Literacy at Winthrop. I have been teaching for nine years. Second year at MPHS Seven years at FMMS If I hadn’t become a teacher, I’d be a children’s book author or comedian.

IBMYP English I See Syllabus

Assignments (formal and informal) will receive a max of 80% when turned in the next class day, and a max of 50% after that. If a student is absent, he/she has 5 class days to turn in work for full credit; assignment is considered late on day 6. Any work not turned in by the end of the quarter will receive a ZERO. Final Papers/Essays are to be printed. If a paper is not printed, it is late.

Weekly Vocabulary – Due Thursday Weekly Vocabulary Quizzes – Friday Independent Reading Project – 1 per quarter Various Assignments – Posted on board and on mphsmathers.weebly.com daily.

The purpose of an Interactive Student Notebook is to enable your child to be a creative, independent thinker and writer. Interactive notebooks will be used for class notes as well as for other activities in which you will be asked to express your own ideas and process the information presented in class. Interactive notebooks tend to have a learning curve, and we will learn as we go along.

Students are required to keep a binder for this class Students are required to keep a binder for this class. Binders contain all of their notes, quizzes, and classwork, including homework, reading exercises, interactive note booking. Their binders will be very beneficial when studying for a test and will be graded quarterly Neatness counts!

GENERAL COURSE OF ACTION: As a classroom teacher, it is my duty to create an optimal learning environment for everybody in our class. If your child is disruptive, I will go over the expected behavior with them. I will communicate with you should any problems arise. GENERAL COURSE OF ACTION: Problem will be addressed with student; reminded of expected behavior. Problem will be addressed with student. Parent will be contacted. Student will need to stay after school; if problems persist meeting will be held.
