Sex appeal can increase the effectiveness of an ad or commercial because it attracts the customer’s attention. Sex appeal usually involves either a couple, or just a single person. Often the ad displays either current act of sex, or the promise of it—as shown in both images. All of this sexual behavior can be achieved by simply buying and using their products.

An example of a funny advertisement

The fallacy of snob appeal usually follows a strange but predictable path: agree with me and buy my product because hardly anybody else is. It is really an appeal to everybody's natural urges to distinguish themselves from all the rest. It is an appeal to your inner snob. Here we have an example of “Celerity Cruises”, where the name even suggest that if you attend this cruise ship, you will be with the ranks of celebrities. You see this usually with expensive cars, TV’s, and other high end electronics.

Famous person Having a celebrity or authority appears in an ad to lend his or her stellar qualities to the product. Sometimes the people will actually claim to use the product, but very often they don't. There are agencies surviving on providing products with testimonials

“Over a billion served!” Be one of the “billion.” “Over a billion served!”

Fear Scaring us, showing us something awful or distasteful – something we DON’T want to happen to us
