API 2017 Exploration & Production Standards Conference on Oilfield Equipment and Materials, June 27, 2017 API 10A Cooperative Testing Calgary, AB June 2017

Agenda Charge of SC10/TG02: Cooperative Testing General Information Facilities offering to supply cement Last meeting for TG02

CHARGE Task Group on Cooperative Testing (Bill Ulrich) Coordinate efforts of the cooperative testing program. Evaluate test results and present results at annual meeting When necessary as dictated by the results, propose changes in the test procedure to insure results are statistically more accurate. Coordinate efforts of the work group on compressive strength.

Letter to API 10A Facilities API sent out a letter to the facilities that were 10A monogrammed: Mentioned focus for 2016 was Free Fluid and Strengths The sample needs to be any one of the cements that are within the specification of API 10A. The samples would need to be shipped out no later than late March 2018. API will help pay for the shipping and packing costs up to $35,000 USD. API Subcommittee 10A is asking for your participation in API Cooperative Testing Program. Task Group 02 on Cooperative Testing is asking for a plant to volunteer to supply a Well Cement sample for the program in 2018. This program supports any changes that may happen as result of findings during the analysis of results. In 2016 a focus was put on the free fluid and strength standards. Good discussions were facilitated because of the findings and actions going forward on possible improvement/additional testing is being proposed. Specific requirements for the cement being used : · The sample needs to be any one of the cements that are within the specification of API 10A. · The samples would need to be shipped out no later than late March 2018. API will help pay for the shipping and packing costs up to $35,000 USD.

SC 10-TG 02 meeting Discussed report sheet: Is there a need for the curing bath temperatures? Measurement of the cubes Discussed if needed. Then agreed to validate in again in the 2018 testing program to justify removing from 10A. Discussed if the time from mixing to mold in curing bath needed? (All tests?) Flask specifications were discussed along with other items. Redo the questionnaire in report but make more specific Ask for distance from scale to vibration free apparatus? How do we ask for any external variables that can change result.(ex paraffin vs stopper)

SC 10- TG Meeting notes cont. Gunnar suggested that Static Gel Strength be added to the next Cooperative. Need to vet if this would help any task groups. What would be the parameters needed for this test? Composite sample for the Cooperative Testing was discussed. Question was mentioned if retarder should be included. Felt that we would start having too much sample to send. Discussed the spreadsheet for data entry and no suggestions for improvements were given at the moment. Report ID's went over well. Gave anonymity to the facility. Overall the new format for report was better. Will discuss if there what can be improved.
