B. The Latin Language Spoken and written language of Rome. Today: Latin greatly influenced the vocabulary of many languages.

C. The Spread of Greek Ideas Educated Romans learned the Greek language and studied Greek art, literature and architecture. Effect: Many visitors returned to their own lands and imitated Greek styles.

D. Spread of Christianity Early Rome – Christians were persecuted. People were so impressed by their faith- Large Numbers converted Today: In 395 Christianity spread throughout the world.

E. Women New laws provided protection for women. Many owned property and businesses Effect: Women continue to gain rights in many countries

F. The Dome Improved the Greek design by inventing the dome Today: Dome seen in many US buildings
