Meaning of the Song? It is about the incarnation from Mary’s perspective. It is a side of the incarnation that we don’t often her about. Her fiat. If something is done by fiat, it is done because of an official order given by someone in authority. God chose Mary to carry Jesus. Her yes. Mary had free will and could have decided not to accept the burden of being the mother of God.

Reflection Questions for your Journal What do you think it was like for Mary to carry Jesus in her womb? Imagine yourself either as Mary, or as Joseph knowing your wife is carrying the Son of God. What would you say to Mary if you could meet her?
