Writing Prompts 11/27/16 – 12/01/16

November 27 November is “National Inspirational Role Model Month.” Who is your role model and why are they your role model

November 28 November was “Good Nutrition Month.”  Think back to the different types of food you ate.  Are you getting enough servings from each of the food groups?  Create a plan of how you will eat healthier next month, or how you will continue to eat healthy.

November 29 November is “Child Safety & Protection Month.”  Think about the different items in your house or classroom that may be dangerous for you or other kids.  Choose several of the items and explain how they could be made safer by you or an adult.

November 30 On this day in 1835, Samuel Langhorne Clemens, Mark Twain, was born in Florida, Missouri.  During his life he worked as a newspaper reporter, riverboat pilot, and later a writer of fiction.  Looking at the riverboat above, how do you think travel may have been different compared to the boats of today?

December 1 On this day in 1955, Rosa Parks refused to give up her bus seat to a white man.  This was a brave action by Parks.  What is the bravest thing you have ever done?  Be sure to include details about the event and why you think you were brave.
