Figure 1 Impact of REDD1/mTOR-Mediated Control of Glycolysis in TAMs on Tumor Angiogenesis and Metastasization (A) Hypoxia-induced REDD1 suppresses mTOR activity and inhibits glycolysis in TAMs, which leaves more glucose available for the endothelial cells. This results in the formation of a leaky vascular network that promotes metastasis. (B) Targeting REDD1 in TAMs installs glucose competition and reduces endothelial glucose uptake, resulting in normalized blood vessel formation and reduced metastasis.
