diet They eat insects like , beetles , flies and spiders. They feed from 1,ooo to 3,000 flowers each day. They use there good eyes to find flowers and there forked tongue to eat. They hover over flowers and eat a lot of nectar so they have energy for flying.

Appearance Usually, male hummingbirds have bright colors when on the other hand, females mostly have very dull colors. They have thick necks and broad chests Some have no feet but when they do, there are four toes on each foot three in front and one in back. There wings are extremely fast when they can almost rotate 180 degrees They are the smallest birds on earth with a weight of 0.07 ounces

Habitat Some live on islands, grasslands, rainforests, deserts. They can in Mexico, southern California, Alaska, and Chile . They live by the western hemisphere. Some hummingbirds migrate. Live in most of south/north America Can live in mountains of Colombia, equador, Peru, and Bolivia.

Adaptations There long beak helps so they can get nectar To scare an intruder they puff up its chest, spreads its tail, and moves its head. If the “intruder dance” doesn't work it will chase and attack. It will fly in zig-zags and dive to escape a predator. They fight with there beak and claws. They blend in their nest

Fun facts They Can fly backwards Mating goes on for 3-5 seconds The smallest bird on earth is the bee hummingbird
