La Quinceanera By: Raegan and Hannah

What does it celebrate? A Quinceanera is a Mexican girl’s 15 birthday party. This party also celebrates the girl’s becoming a woman. A Quinceanera is similar to an American Sweet 16 and a sweet 16 can also celebrate a girl becoming a woman.

Traditions At a Quinceanera the girl who the party is for must wear a pink, fluffy, frilly dress. The girl’s godparents give her gifts mostly jewelry to go with her dress. At the party damas or maids of honor and chambelanes or escorts will sit around the celebrant.

Who goes to a Quinceanera? The girl’s family, parents, cousins, siblings, aunts, uncles, and grandparents come to the Quinceanera. The celebrant’s godparents also attend. The girl invites her friends, both boys and girls.

What does the Celebrant need for a Quinceanera? The celebrant needs to have : A crown A ring Shoes Gloves A dress
