2017 Town Hall Meetings Boyle – September 3, 2017 Edmonton – September 12, 2017

Primary Concerns Lack of inflow causing the lake to be in an imbalanced condition Debate over watershed/ river-basin boundaries Rodeo road placement Krazy Creek water is required to charge the wetlands that feed Skeleton Lake

Data Synthesis: Surface Water Flow Early LiDAR data demonstrates the most probable flow path and the minimal topographical relief of the area Data Synthesis: Surface Water Flow

Watershed Boundary and Krazy Creek

SLSA’s Natural Solution Restore the historical natural flow from Krazy Creek. We have proven that this will put the lake back into a water balance condition Hydrological connectivity between Krazy creek and Skeleton Lake has been acknowledged by AEP SLSA is in the process of applying for an inter-basin transfer license through AEP

Water flow 2013- 2014

THE NATURAL SOLUTION In 2012 SLSA successfully restored some of the natural flow to the lake through ditch work. In 2013 and 2014 the lake rose two inches per year. This year the lake is up 9” since October, 2016. These are the only years the lake level has increased since 1997.

CURRENT STATUS SLSA had a tried and proven solution that can be re-implemented quickly with the inter-basin transfer approval. Two year test period has proven opening up historical flow paths will reverse the water loss trend. SLSA has retained consultants to complete and submit an inter-basin application.

What we are doing now Improve Communications: New Facebook Page: @skeletonlakeAB Inter-basin Application Building Relationships County Boyle MLA’s Fundraising Summer Villages Grants Landowners / Lake Users
