Presentation transcript:

Olympic legacy money 5 rounds of bidding , £2 million available each time Maximum grant £50,000 (giving about 50 successful projects per round of bids) There will be few full awards of £50k Partnership funding is expected Evidence of strong local partnerships is essential A menu of choices and likely costs – Sport England menu – Sport England menu

1. Projects must show strong written evidence of the need for the development must be community led and demonstrate strong local partnerships must demonstrate the contribution they will make to sports development must offer protection of the site for sporting use for at least 25 years 2. Successful applicants can choose to receive support with the design, specification and delivery of the capital works aspect of projects. Specialist turf consultants can arrange for the procurement and contract management of capital works to be undertaken on our behalf. 3. Playing fields for which funding is being sought will need to have been identified through either a published Playing Pitch Strategy, adopted Local Development Plan or Local Needs Assessment 4. The application process is competitive and SpEng will measure all projects against their eligibility and application criteria. Only those that best meet the criteria will be supported 5. The organisation and project must demonstrate all of the features outlined above.

The Award is granted to assist Grampound Football Club in financing:- Regrading and improvement of the surface of the full-sized football pitch and improving drainage to create a training area/minisoccer pitch

Re-grading and improvement of playing surface (main pitch)£24000 Piped drainage scheme with sand grooves (training/minisoccer area)£13500 Design Fees £ 8350 Initial (first year) Maintenance £ 5600 VAT£10290 Total£61740

Sport England Grant£49620 Grampound with Creed Parish Council£ 2000 Grampound Football Club (cash)£ 1000 Grampound Football Club (in kind)£ 9120 Total£61740

Initial preparation eg removal of goalpost sockets, organising rotovating if required Growing in ie mowing, scarifying, fertilising etc during period from construction to first use (9-12 months) Costed at £9120 according to Sport England figures, including VAT

We have been appointed a turf agronomist Feasibility study & topographical survey £1800 to be released to us to pay for this (Part A Funding) If he indicates that costs will be higher than those given by Sport England, we will need to discuss/re-negotiate how we proceed Part B Funding – this is the £49,620 (out of £61,740)

1. Lease to be agreed with Hall & Recreation Ground committee Need to re-negotiate rent/mowing/maintenance arrangements License for school would be from us, not the Hall 2. Timescale of works would probably be Summer 2013 – ground operations Autumn 2013 – seeding Autumn 2013 to summer 2014 – growing in initial maintenance Late summer 2014 – first use 3. This means that we would need to hire another pitch for season
