Presentation transcript:

Order of organs from inside out Fat bodies (these should be glued completely to frog) Bladder and kidneys (glue the tip of the bladder to the line nearest the bottom of the opening of the frog) Stomach and Intestines (glue the end of the stomach to the top of the small intestine to show they are connected.) Lungs and Heart (glue the top part of the lung to the line at the top of the opening on the frog.) Liver (glue the top two lobes of the liver to the line at the top of the opening. You should be able to see the heart just under the liver) Blood Vessel and Spleen (glue the blood vessel to the top, overlapping where you glued the lungs, the spleen should be at the bottom of the blood vessel.) You will be overlapping these so that you can flip them upward. 6 5 4 5 3 3 1 1 2

Key Internal Organs of the Frog Body System Major Function brain nervous  thinking and coordination of body activities heart circulatory pumps blood through the body stomach digestive stores and begins the chemical digestion of food small intestine finishes chemical digestion and absorbs digested nutrients into the blood liver makes bile, detoxifies poisons, many other functions gall bladder stores bile from liver for release into small intestine to aid in fat digestion lungs respiratory exchanges gases with the external environment (aided by the skin in the frog) kidneys excretory filter wastes from the blood ureter carries wastes to the urinary bladder urinary bladder stores urine before its release from the body pancreas endocrine/digestive produces hormones like insulin which regulate blood sugar, produces pancreatic juice which aids in digestion in the small intestine ovaries reproductive makes eggs in female frog testes makes eggs in male frog FROG FOLDABLE DIRECTIONS You will create a frog foldable with its parts and color the parts, then cut them out with the label attached and glue them in the order shown. Some parts will be glued over others, but you will need to be able to flip them up so do not glue them completely down.   Color the fat bodies yellow. Cut them out and glue them as shown. Color the entire frog body green. Color the inside and flaps a lighter green. Color the kidneys marroon and the bladder green. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the frog. Color the stomach and esophagus orange, and the pancreas light blue. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the frog. Color the small intestine dark blue and the large intestine purple. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the end of the stomach and then to the frog. Color the heart red and the lungs pink or light red. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the frog. Color the liver brown and the gall bladder gray. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the frog. Color the blood vessel red and the spleen purple. Cut them out with the labels attached and glue them to the middle of the frog.
