Compositional Layers & Physical Layers Earth’s Compositional Layers & Physical Layers TEACHER NOTES below Materials per student- blank sheet of copy paper, scissors, ruler, colored pencils (optional) Super-simple teacher notes: Have students do everything shown on the screen! (see notes on later slides for more details) Other Notes: To see a preview of this lesson on video go to http://www.interactivescienceteacher.com/earths-compositional-physical-layers-earth-science-lessons-preview/ Change any text you like in the ppt Teachers-this is definitely a graphic organizers you’ll want to make for yourself beforehand so you have an example to show, and because it makes you more descriptive when doing the lesson. Print these slides to help you present. Click Print, then under “Print what:” select “Handouts (6 Slides per page)” Lots more notes on later slides in this ppt… Thanks for using this lesson! With paper longways, fold both ends in to meet in the middle. Teachers- with each class you do this with, have your own blank sheet of paper and SHOW them how to do this (besides what’s on the ppt). Keep SHOWING them what to do with your paper for the next few steps as well- it clears up lots of confusion in the room, which is a wonderful thing.

Now cut across that line (top sheet only !) Draw a line 2 ½ cm down As stated above, use ruler to draw a line 2 ½ cm down from the top and then cut the top sheet where the line way; do not cut through both top and bottom sheets. We’ll use this back upper area to write a few important things.
