Now We’re Talking For Healthy Minds

Context IAPT seeks to address the needs of people with anxiety and depression. It has been assessed that at any time in Worcestershire there are 49,140 people suffering with these conditions. IAPT services are targeted at providing short focused interventions that improve the patient’s presentation. We are currently commissioned to provide access to 16.8% of this catchment population. We need to reach 19% (9,346) of Worcestershire population in Q4 of 18/19 which rises to 25% (12,298) by Q1 of 20/21

Men Just over three out of four suicides (76%) are by men and suicide is the biggest cause of death for men under 35 (Reference: ONS) 12.5% of men in the UK are suffering from one of the common mental health disorders Men are less likely to access psychological therapies than women. Only 36% of referrals to IAPT (Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies) are men

Campaign drivers Aims: Increase self-referrals into Worcestershire Healthy Minds (IAPT), particular from men Reduce stigma around mental health, normalize it and encourage people to talk Help Worcestershire to be the most supportive mental health county in the country Linked to Trust strategy Raise our profile as a leading Mental Health organisation
