Rebellion vs. Revolution??? A rebellion is an organized resistance to a ruler or to government. It's a stand against authority that's often violent in nature, but rarely successful. EX – Rebellions of 1837 A revolution takes opposition a step further. It might be considered a successful rebellion. A revolution involves change.
