Presentation transcript:

Inclined Surfaces in Isometric Sketches There are different kinds of surfaces: Principal  snap blocks Inclined  parking garage ramp Oblique  not perpendicular to any principal plane Curved Surface  defined on a principal plane (in 1182 and 1186!) Chapter 2 of the Text

Objectives Up to this point, we have created isometric sketches of objects that can be built from blocks. Now, we will learn how to incorporate inclined surfaces into isometric sketches.

Normal Surfaces Normal surfaces are either horizontal or vertical. When building an object from blocks, it contains only normal surfaces.

Inclined Surfaces Inclined surfaces are angled with respect to vertical or horizontal planes. Inclined surfaces can occur in any orientation on an object.

Drawing Inclined Surfaces First, draw the surfaces that are not inclines. Then, draw the lines to connect the corners of the inclined plane. CLICK

Inclined Surfaces in Isometric Sketches Use this time to practice sketching objects with inclined surfaces. In class assignment (GP-06)
