Background Threat of terrorism changed nature and scope of risks and necessary planning Revised SEOP - “each state agency and local government is responsible for developing a continuity of operations plan (COOP).” COOP – beyond disaster recovery – all hazards planning to resume/provide mission critical operations with least impact Events of 9/11 raised interest beyond risk manager types 1/2/2019

Background DAS provides services to agencies to facilitate agency services to the public DAS’s service provider role provides us an opportunity to play a coordinating role in business continuity planning statewide NEMA grant for planning and tech assistance for COOP Multi-agency Advisory Team put out RFP (DAS, DEQ, HHS, Labor, NEMA, Revenue, Roads, SFM) 1/2/2019
