Macbeth Reading 5 Date: Objectives Read Macbeth Act 2 scene 1 and 2 (4 pages) Comprehend the plot and express feelings on the beginning of Act 2. Mark important quotes for later. Warm-up – at the top of the worksheet ACT 2 In your own words and with an example, define guilt. (As in ‘I feel guilty’. What is it’s purpose? Why do we feel it? How does it affect you? When do you feel it? 3-4 sentences.)

Roles: The plan is set to murder the king. Banquo (Noble general) Fleance (his son) Macbeth (protagonist) Lady Macbeth (wife) Macbeth Project voice by speaking forward, not down. Loud is good.

Worksheets Complete worksheets act 2 scene 1-2 Start preparing for Macbeth portion of the test.

Cooldown We purposely don’t see King Duncan’s murder. This is meant to affect our view of Macbeth. So... How would we feel IF we saw him kill the old man? How does the play want you to see Macbeth instead? (Shakespeare referred to the play as ‘Macbeth’s Tragedy’)
