What did we learn? This winter was different to other winters - ‘Outbreak season’ was prolonged. - More than one genotype. - Could not rely on past experience alone. - Work flexibly and take calculated risks. - No blame supportive culture was essential for staff moral. - Wards required to be closed for a longer time than normal.
