Discretionary Management Service – November 2017 Portfolio Performance Your financial affairs in a safe pair of hands The Offering The NLPFM Discretionary Management Service offers a number of different portfolios to clients. The needs of each client are considered independently and different portfolios are selected based on suitability and approach to risk after a discussion directly with the client. The philosophy of NLPFM is that irrespective of which standard portfolio or specially tailored portfolio is used, clients can be assured that their money is looked after with their interests at heart. The Month in Review November was very much a mixed picture for risk assets with the first half of the month seeing a global sell-off before a solid recovery rally in the second half of the month. The US and Japan led the rally posting some impressive numbers whilst the UK was a big laggard, driven mainly by Sterling strength. Europe and Emerging Markets were also negative performers for the month. Bonds experienced a turbulent period but finished the month broadly flat whilst our combined alternative funds were a small positive. Property once again had a steady month and posted another solid return. The MSCI UK Index ended the month down -1.79% whilst the AFI Index was down -0.39%. Pleasingly all of our portfolios were ahead of the market and the benchmark and we continue to deliver superior risk adjusted returns.
