Topic Sentence -Restates question and provides a simple answer. It is known as a “claim” or “position” for the paragraph. Anyone can look at your topic sentence and get a quick answer to the question without going into detail.

Text-Dependent Question Topic Sentence The people feel ? about the pandas. Text-Dependent Question How did the people feel about the pandas?

Important Evidence -direct evidence you pull from the text (meaning you grab the exact words used) -must include line numbers, page numbers, or paragraphs to show where you got it (also known as citation)
