Friday, Sept 8th, 2017 Agenda: Glue fossil record paper in notebook. OBJ:  SW find evidence hidden in the fossil record. WU: What does the term fossil record refer to? Agenda:     Glue fossil record paper in notebook.     Continue working on Evidence in Fossil Record. HW: 1st and 3rd pd– none 2nd, 4th, and 5th- finish Stories of Fossil Record WS. For the signatures, get your parents to sign. This will be a process grade.

What is the fossil record? The "fossil record" refers to the placement of fossils throughout the layers of sedimentary rock on Earth. We can learn what species lived during a specific geological period (era) and then changed in time. Typically, the older fossils are buried more deeply than younger ones. This is known as the law of superposition. Scientists use the placement of fossils as a guide for determining when life forms existed, and how they evolved.
