Unit 12: Current issues By Michael Morris I will be describing and explains three strategies or initiatives which relate to sports participation

Sports Equals “we want to remove the cultural, social and organisational barriers in sports” One strategy from sporting equals “fit as a fiddle” targeting the fitness of the elderly population through the us of roadshows and classes run by trained volunteers.

This aim is basically reached by delivering: Active sports This aim is basically reached by delivering: more coaches, better quality coaching and more coaching opportunities for young people to improve their performance more and easier access to sports, giving young people opportunities to compete and develop their skills and sustaining their interest more opportunities for young people to join clubs and compete in junior sections.

The aim is to increase the participation in sport form girls. Girls first The aim is to increase the participation in sport form girls. The sports council for wales offered schools £1,000 if the can find imaginative ways to deliver new opportunities for extra-curricular actives for girls. The emphasis is on providing new and fun approaches to those girls who would otherwise have little interest in sports
