NWHPEC Board Meeting November 17, 2016 via Telecom In Attendance: Rick Alvarado, Jennifer Ayers, Richard Carroll, Mike Funke, Steve Richardson, Kyle Stavig, Alex Thomason, Frank Twardoch, Julie Simmons Adjourned 1:10pm Financial Update (Mike): - Not all of Mike Hoseus’ expenses are accounted for yet, but still on pace to end 2016 as planned. Old Business: Annual Survey Review: Nothing extraordinary stood out for the Board. Julie will work on scheduling Executive Forum’s for 2017. Decision on what to have Mike Hoseus present is still a topic for discussion (Problem Solving, EMDS, and/or Lean & HR). Leadership Sessions ranked highly, so Julie is considering scheduling a 3rd session for 2017 (Sept. Oct. timeframe). Social media is still an open discussion topic. Kyle suggested hiring an outside professional group to do a social media survey to identify a) user groups who want interaction and b) what type of interaction they want. Strategy Session Work: Julie is continuing to work with Jennifer on creating the “tag line” for our website and with Alex on the one-page overview document. Next iterations will be available for review and discussion at the December meeting. Event Updates (Julie): Learning Tours: Finished for the year. Julie has the survey data and is starting to schedule 2017. Training Classes: No classes scheduled for remainder of the year. A request has come through for the IK/CK class, not to host, but to send a person. Executive Forum’s: EMDS Overview Session and Workshop wrapped up well with strong evaluations and feedback. Attendance was low. Julie has the action item to try to identify why this critical topic isn’t resonating with the membership. Suggestion to connect EMDS with other learnings as a way to promote the topic and method. Best Practice Sharing Sessions: Nothing scheduled through 2016. Venue is the obstacle for 2017. Leadership Sessions: Two scheduled for 2017: Feb. 1st with Scott Simmons and June 6th with Col. Arthur Athens. Both to be held at Montgomery Park. The promo video for the Feb. 1st session is scheduled to be shot on 12/7. Once that is complete, Julie will send the Board their contact list with the request to make all personal contacts by 12/23.
