Facilitated Diffusion Facilitated diffusion is the movement of solute particles from a high concentration to a low concentration with the help of a channel protein The channel protein helps guard charged particles since they don’t like the phospholipids Examples: Na+, K+, Ca2+ Passive transport

Osmosis Osmosis is the movement of water across the membrane Water is SUPER small so it can easily move through the phospholipids Water moves to an area of greater solute concentration Or to an area with less water Example of passive

Active Transport Requires ENERGY/ATP Goes against the concentration gradient (from a low to high concentration) Examples: Glucose, Na+/K+
