What are the powers of the executive branch?

In the U.S. Constitution, the executive branch enforces the laws and is made up of the President, Vice President, and the President’s advisors.

The President can serve a maximum of two (4 year) terms and is elected when he wins a majority of electoral votes (270).

The President has the power to do the following:

1. Recommend laws to Congress. 2. Approve or veto laws passed by Congress.
