True value of Mandarin Consulting Coaching Programmes Training for UK Team

Introduction and objective of our coaching programme: To coach young Chinese university students to become future international business professionals by helping them to understand essential knowledge of the West and skills related to job applications.

During our Career Consultation, we must discuss with all our warm leads the following questions: Why do Chinese students in the UK have difficulty passing interviews in the West? Their lack of understanding of the West (KNOWLEDGE) – British/Western Values, Western company values, company structures, business functions, Western culture, Western current affairs, global economic issues, corporate life and others. Their lack of understanding of the job application process (SKILLS) – Resume, cover letter, interviews, Assessment Centres, group work, presentation, business English, Western social etiquette and others.

During the career consultation, we must discuss with warm leads the following: What is your dream job? What is important to you in your first job and future career? What type of professional lifestyle are you looking for? How would you like to feel each day when you work? What is the expectation of your parents for your professional life?

All warm leads must agree with the following: Knowledge and skills lead to many offers The more complex and demanding the application process, often better the job Bypassing learning the knowledge and skills does not work in the UK for getting a good job Bypassing learning the knowledge and skills will prevent students becoming successful international professionals Referrals may lead to interviews, never to passing interviews Best people from whom to learn knowledge about the UK and the West and its values are British people Best people with whom to practise interview skills in the UK are British professionals with many years of professional experience

Show a comparison table to differentiate British/Western and Chinese issues (knowledge) relevant to interview questions   British Chinese Values Democracy The rule of law Individual liberty Mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith Communism Harmony Benevolence Righteousness Courtesy Wisdom Honesty Loyalty Filial piety Corporate structure Matrix with multiple decision-takers Top down - hierarchical Business functions Professionals in charge Senior family/party members Leadership Motivational Dictatorial Team work Collaborative Structured Work life balance Critical Unimportant

In conclusion: KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS are key to successful job applications in the UK and a guarantee for a future successful international professional business life in and outside China.
