Why would a parent not want equal parenting? Revenge More child support Convenience They believe they are the better parent and the other is not necessary. One house stability. However, it has been proven that for “emotional stability” both parents being involved is the best.

Myth #1 Geographic stability leads to overall stability for the child. Fact Children who have equal involvement with both parents do best psychologically, academically, socially and physically.

Myth #2 If children must live with one parent, mom is the best choice. Fact Research clearly shows that children raised by dad are more likely to do better psychologically, academically, socially and physically than those raised by mom.

Myth #3 If there is conflict in the custody issue, then shared custody will not work. Fact High conflict situations make it more important to have Equal Parenting otherwise the child feels it has been abandoned by the other parent and feels the loss of their love. Creating not only emotional distress for the child but it increases FALSE claims of child abuse, spouse abuse or sexual abuse.
