Welcome to Miss Frye’s 8th Grade Science Class!

My Professional Experience I worked at Sonic Drive-In for five years. I have been a middle grades youth counselor at my church for four years. I completed my student teaching here at Kannapolis Middle School. I have been on mission trips to Dominican Republic and Costa Rica. I was a counselor at Camp Friendship, a camp for children with cancer.

My Philosophy My goal is for each student in my classroom to walk away at the end of the year knowing that he/she tried his/her best to succeed and not just learn for the test. My classroom will be one of learning, applying, discussing, and most of all, having FUN!

Expectations for Myself as the Teacher To teach students what they should know. To show students how to apply what they learn to “real life.” To motivate and encourage every student to try his or her best. To understand my students individually and adapt my teaching for their learning needs.

Expectations for My Students To give their BEST effort in everything they do. To respect each other and myself. To learn the material and not just memorize it. To become globally aware students that understand how science is a part of the world around them. To have fun.

Expectations for Parents To motivate students at home. To contact me if you need to. To expect contact from me about your child. (I will contact you about how awesome your child is!) To help me understand how to teach your child in a way that will help him/her learn best.

Contact Me! You can call me: ###-###-#### Or email me: courtneyfrye@email.com Feel free to set up conferences with me or to e-mail me any questions you may have.

Are you ready for what’s ahead?
