Caring for your hospitals; from York to the Yorkshire Coast

What we do We raise vital funds to help make a real difference to patients in our local hospitals from York to the Yorkshire Coast. We fund improvements to the hospital environments and services beyond that which NHS funding alone could deliver. We actively raise funds through appeals and fundraising initiatives as well as supporting others through their own fundraising. In 2016/17 we raised in excess of £1.6million which was spent back in our hospitals. We help departments identify appropriate expenditure for funds, honouring donors wishes and in line with Trust priorities.

Why? We aim to enable York Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to provide the best possible healthcare experience for every patient. Our funds may provide Environmental improvements including comfortable seating, cooling fans, private less clinical areas for comforting those who are distressed or breaking bad news. Equipment that can make things easier for patients and staff including extra non-essential items that can reduce waiting times, provide distraction and entertainment for patients or help patients, relatives and visitors feel more comfortable. Research into improving patient care and clinical process and additional staff training to keep our staff at the forefront of their specialism.

Who we are We have a small team of fundraisers based at York and Scarborough Hospitals. Lucy Clegg, Fundraising Manager Maggie Bulman, Trust & Corporate Fundraiser Maya Richardson, Community Fundraiser Maria Simon-Norris, Fundraising Assistant Charity.Fundraising@york.nhs.uk - 01904 724521
