VISION BOARDS Nursepat Consultants

What is a vision board? A vision board is a collage of images that represent your dreams. It could be words, pictures, places, material things -all put together on a poster board or electronically made into a single image. The purpose of a vision board is to realize your future, and to activate the law of attraction and move from day dreaming to living your dreams.

What is the law of attraction? The law of attraction is simple – whatever you project energetically or put your energy towards whether that be positive or negative you will attract. What you project is what you receive. A vision board is simply to help set our intentions for the way we want to live, and for our brains to pick up on that and make it happen. For example: If you say “I will always be sick, I can’t seem to get better. I feel terrible, and I’m stuck.” Well guess what: You will be sick and you will be stuck. Your know theses people in your life. You brain hears whatever you say as truth. So your body isn’t going to work towards healing if you believe you will always be sick – it will work to fulfill that statement and make the thoughts match the reality The vision board therefore, is to help our brains recognize what it is we want to make true in our lives. It helps us unconsciously move towards our dreams in a very real and powerful way. If you are sick, then gravitate towards pictures that are of people healthy, active, smiling, and well. Repeat to yourself “I am healthy, healed and full of energy”

How to create a vision board: Supplies Needed: A large variety of Magazines in color (ask your friends, doctors office etc for them) and/or images from your computer like Pinterest pages (print off) Scissors Poster Board, Foam Board or Cork Board Glue, Thumb Tacs, Cute Pins or Tape

Process: Find images that convey your future and your dreams. Cut them out and/or print them out and arrange on a poster, foam or cork board. Attach them with glue or pins. Display in a prominent place that you will see everyday. Each board is going to be as unique as the individual. However, there are a few tips and items you should considering incorporating into your board.

Ask yourself these questions: What would you do differently when you realize your goal? Where would you travel? Where would you live? What would you wear? What things would you own? How would you feel inside? How you would look outside? What habits would you have? What would you do for a business?…Or would you be retired? Who would you help? Remember to have pictures and images that relate to all areas of your life – Health, Career, Finances, Spirituality, Relationships, etc.

Keep it colorful and visual – Your brain thrives on images. Therefore you want very visual descriptions of your dreams. Don’t limit yourself to only pictures. Throw in some visual words that describe the feeling of your dreams once you reach them. Think joy, gratitude, or abundance.

Get Specific – Anyone can post some pictures of wads of cash, or sports cars but where is the motivation in that (not to mention that’s just shallow)? Get to the core of what your heart desires. Feel the passion as your create this, and be as specific as possible. Let go of those generic images, and find what makes your dream different than everyone else’s. As you flip through the magazines, see what makes your heart race or evokes an emotional response and rip that out.

Make it a Celebration: Grab a glass (or bottle) of Levive and turn on some music that you love. Or perhaps invite a few friends over to have a little vision board party. Make this a really fun experience and let go of any expectations of what it should be, and ask yourself what it could be.
