Writing that tells what something means Writing a Definition

Understand what a definition is Definition- is the writing that explains what something means. Definition helps you convey what you mean and avoid being misunderstood. It also helps you understand what other people mean.

Four basics of a good definition It tells readers what is being defined. It presents a clear and precise basic definition. It uses examples to show what the writer means. It gives details about the examples that readers will understand.

Support in definition Support- The info to explain your definition. This information can be examples or facts or stories- whatever will help your readers understand what you mean.
