Perspective The technique artists use to project the illusion of the three-dimensional world onto a two-dimensional surface.

Important Vocabulary Horizon or Horizon line – A level line where water or land seems to end and the sky begins. Vanishing Point – In perspective, the point at which receding lines seem to converge and vanish

One-Point Perspective A form of linear perspective in which all lines appear to meet at a single point on the horizon.

Two-Point Perspective A form of linear perspective in which all lines appear to meet at either of two points on the horizon.
