PERSPECTIVE DRAWING

Perspective is a technique used by artists to shorten an object to make it look as if it extends backward into space.

Linear Perspective is the technique of creating an illusion of depth on a flat surface by having all parallel lines recede into the distance and drawn to converge at one or more vanishing points on the horizon line.

Vanishing point: the place where lines appear to meet on the horizon. HORIZON LINE VANISHING POINT

Where is the vanishing point?

1 Point Perspective

2 Point Perspective

Is this 1 or 2 pt. perspective?

Generally, when an object is placed higher up in the picture plane, it appears further away.
