School Supplies Newly added items: EARBUDS (required to have), hand-held sharpener Frequently used items: Sharpies, Expo markers, ruler, and scissors. Please check occasionally if your child’s supplies need replenishing.

Homework HW assigned nightly, due the following day. (No HW on Fridays) Students receive full credit for HW that is turned in complete and on time. Late work can be turned in, but will receive no credit/points. We correct with green pen and will put a star on the top to show it has been corrected

How can you help? Check your child’s planner each night. Look over HW for general neatness and correctness. Redirect attention to errors that should be corrected.

My child was absent, how do I get their H.W? Students can pick up H.W. here in the classroom after their 3rd day of absence. Will be given time to complete based on days absent ( ex. 1 day absent = 1 extra day to complete HW) *Unexcused Absences- Missing assignments will not be accepted (according to FUSD Board Policy)

Reading Log Sent home monthly Should read at least one book from each different genre Greatest emphasis placed on their response to reading

Math- Stretch Your Thinking Closely related to Smarter Balance assessments Answers should be explained using words and math vocabulary -------------------------------------------- Multiplication Facts- practice at home

At-Home Trimester Projects One project per trimester to be completed at home. Remember Paragraph- students will share about an important family artifact. Fremont Scrapbook- students will select a landmark in Fremont to research, visit, write about and present on. Presentations- highly encourage memorization

Prep & Library Schedule Monday- Computer Lab 9:55-10:45 Tuesday- P.E. 8:10-9:00 Friday- P.E. 9:55-10:45 Please ensure students have proper shoes on P.E. days Library: Wednesday 9:00-9:30 Books are due on Tuesday

Star of the Week When your student is Star of the Week: Student will complete poster and share with the class on Friday. Bring in a few photos to share during presentation. Parents can write a letter telling the class about their child, share some special thoughts or memories. (optional)

Field Trips Planned for: -Stiver’s Lagoon (off-site) - Fremont Museum (off-site) - Oakland Zoomobile - Math Science Nucleus Color Me Mine Warm Springs Park

Field Trips, cont. Goal to collect money for study trips and onsite programs all at once in September as vendors need to be paid in advance. Letter will be sent home in Wolf Folder The total amount of donations collected will determine the number of study trip and on-site programs we can reserve.

Classroom Donations P.T.A. will be collecting and distributing funds to teachers through Fall Stampede donations. Field Trips- not included in PTA donation.
