Key questions How can internationalisation of HE be stratetigised at national level? What elements should be considered? What is the purpose of an internationalisation strategy and how can it be built? To what extent can and should institutional and national strategies differ and how can they be mutually reinforcing? How does internationalisation relate to quality and employability and the other dimensions of the matrix?
How to approach internationalisation Different levels: National, institutional, departmental…. Different components: Teaching, research, outreach…. Different actors: Academic (int/domestic) and administrative staff, students (int/domestic), leadership, international partners Different objectives: income generation, quality, excellence, visibility…..
Reactions to survey question: How do you understand ‘Internationalisation’ Many describes tools for it Partnerships, joint degrees, student exchange…. But not the end goal (quality of HE, student employability, income…) Some referring to institutional level and some to national level
