Quote from the story “I told you a few classes back that we would come back to the subject of pictures.” Mr. R set the dictionary down on the table next to his desk. “Pictures … pictures …pictures. They’re worth a thousand words, isn’t‘ that the expression?”

Andy “Alamo” Crockett, describes himself as being nothing special Andy “Alamo” Crockett, describes himself as being nothing special. Maybe a bit average. He even goes to a small town school which is as average as he is. Never last place in any sports, but never first either. Being new to a school and also someone who doesn’t stand out, Andy finds himself becoming a part of a group of misfits that only have one thing in common. The don’t fit in with any of the other groups in the school either. Sounds just like every other highschool to me.

Andy goes through a typical school year trying to survive budding relationships, popularity, troubles at home and of course keeping up with homework. Luckily there is this awesome Social teacher there; Mr. Mill… I mean Mr. Retzlaff. The best part of Andy’s day is Social and the way in which he learns while in Mr. R’s class. But what if there is more to learning? And what if learning is actually harmful?

Numbers is a perfect glimpse into the lives of high school students Numbers is a perfect glimpse into the lives of high school students. All the twists and turns and trials that come from living in “the most important time of their lives”. Finding your own place in the world, and forming your own opinions, even if they aren’t the popular ones, makes you who you are. And above all else, ask questions, seek answers and discover the truth behind what you see, because blind trust may lead down a path you cannot return from.
