LIVING THINGS OTHER THAN PLANTS AND ANIMALS

Aside from plants and animals, there are other organisms which can be useful or harmful. These groups are FUNGI, ALGAE, and BACTERIA. They don’t have real roots, stem, fruits, and leaves. They only posses root-like structure, stem-like structure, fruit-like structure, and leaf-like structure.

ALGAE Unicellular or multicellular plant-like protists that can make their own food. BACTERIA Unicellular organisms that are used in making fermented products, acts as decomposers and may cause disease. FUNGI Big group of organisms that have plant-like characteristics but cannot make their own food. LICHEN It is a combination of fungi and algae. MUSHROOM A type of fungus that cannot make its own food that can be used as food, act as decomposer and some may cause diseases.

PROTIST Big group of organisms having characteristics of both plant and animals. SPORES Seed-like structure that mostly fungi and some algae used in reproducing their kind.
