Implementation of Requirements on Chemical Toxicity of Nuclear Waste at a Repository A. Glindkamp1, B. Peschel1, I. Harms2 1 TÜV NORD EnSys GmbH & Co. KG, Hanover, Germany 2 Lower Saxony Water Management, Coastal Defence and Nature Conservation Agency (NLWKN), Hildesheim, Germany How can the protection target “protection of water against pollution” be achieved in radioactive waste disposal? Near-surface groundwater Exemplified by the repository Konrad it is demonstrated how a negative impact on the near-surface groundwater by non-radioactive harmful sub-stances, which are contained in the deposited waste packages, can be excluded.
