Biodiversity campaign 2010-2011 Creation of a Pan-European campaign to promote biodiversity across Europe. 27 countries, 22 languages Educational campaign that underscored the urgency and seriousness of the loss of biodiversity Engagement campaign on what individuals can do Refocus on Natura 2000 / nature in general

Creation of an online platform Creation of a social media platform to engage with audience Target groups: General public (low awareness) Local stakeholders (negative perception) Objective: Driving people to the website, engage with target groups through a fun and educational way

Objectives Build a positive image of Natura 2000, by showcasing examples and organising events in DK, PL, BG, ES and SL Targeting general public, local stakeholders and media High-level events in Natura 2000 sites (selected on the basis of a number of criteria, with the help of national authorities) Media relations Online activities will support the events

Country events Denmark: Poland: Ujście Warty (Continental) 21st May 2012 Commissioner Potocnik and Danish Minister for Environment Lille Vildmose (Continental) Highlights: celebrity chef, local food, lunch at info centre, VIPs to engage in nature conservation work Target audiences: VIPs, local partners, NGOs, media and general public (families) Poland: Ujście Warty (Continental) Bulgaria: location tbc (Black Sea Region) – Minister confirmed Spain: location tbc (Atlantic or Mediterranean)
