Old Trafford Community Library Book Donations Academy Attendance Percentages Friday 27th April 2018 Good 96% & above Satisfactory 90%-95.9% Unsatisfactory Below 90% Growing Great Readers! We had a really positive visit from Ros Ferrera last week. Ros works with all the schools in the Focus Trust to develop the teaching of reading. She listened to some of the children read, and looked at children's work from across the academy. Visits like this are always really helpful; they help us identify the next steps in our development, but importantly they also make sure that we recognise and value the hard work of staff and the positive impact of their teaching. CLASS % Nursery 93.3% 1 96.0% 2 89.6% 3 90.7% 4 87.3% 5 94.8% 6 91.5% 7 98.7% 8 98.5% 9 86.7% 10 11 94.6% 12 88.6% 13 98.0% 14 94.7% A Very Special Project We had a very exciting delivery this week! We will be decorating our ceramic bee over the next few weeks and then we have some special plans for the bee after the summer, when it has been displayed in Manchester. Focus Musical Festival Library Book Donations Thank you to Imran in Class 14 who has very kindly donated a book he had read and loved for our school library! If you have any books in excellent condition like Imran, please feel free to donate to our school library. Class 12 are representing us today when they take part in the Focus Trust Music Festival. They will be singing six songs with lots of other children from schools in the Trust and then performing a song on their own about Manchester called ‘Imagination’. Look out for some information and pictures in next weeks newsletter! Mental Health Matters On Wednesday, Pam, our Healthy Young Minds worker ran some fantastic mindfulness sessions with our year 6 children to help alleviate any anxiety or stress on the run up to their SATS exams. School Closures Just a reminder that we are closed on the following days: Thursday 3rd May (Closed for polling) and Monday 7th May (Closed for bank holiday) Follow us on twitter: @OTCAcademy Visit us at: oldtraffordcommunityacademy.co.uk
