An international bottom trawl survey in the Mediterranean http://www.sibm.it/SITO%20MEDITS/principaleprogramme.htm Funded by DG mare/DCF and contracting parties Intends to produce information on benthic and demersal species (population distribution, demographic structure) on the continental shelves and along the upper slopes at a global scale in the Mediterranean Sea Started in 1993, Common nets, Common protocols, Common standardized analysis of the data. Regular updates of the “Manual of protocols”, now include Marine litter (http://www.sibm.it/SITO%20MEDITS/file.doc/Medits-Handbook_V5-2007.pdf)
