Presentation transcript:

1. Judge this . . . 2. Based on this . . . 3. Reported like this . . . Functions & Structures: (Actual Standards we will be evaluated on) Example: IS-1 Each medical school must engage in a planning process that sets the direction for the institution and results in measurable outcomes. 2. Based on this . . . Database: IS -1 A brief statement of the mission and goals of the medical school. An executive summary of the current medicals school strategic plan. Date of the most recent review or revision of the strategic plan. The plan reviewed or revised regularly. A brief summarize or outline the planning process, including the main participants and the names or titles of individuals or groups whose approval is required to finalize the plan. 3. Reported like this . . . Guide to Institutional Self Study: Describe how institutional priorities are set. Evaluate the success of institutional planning efforts and discuss how planning has contributed to the accomplishment of the school’s academic purpose, research prospects, and goals of the clinical enterprise. (Note that very often, the questions found in the Guide to Institutional Self Study (GISS) do not map perfectly back to a specific standard. In fact, often times, the questions found in the GISS are intentionally broader to elicit wider discussion within the committees.) 2005/06 LCME Self-Study @ USF
